Footprint Introduction

Description: This was the first art project that we created for Art Method! The goal was to use your footprint with at least three different media types to introduce yourself to the class. The softball on the left of the footprint represents how I enjoy playing softball. The whistle with the word coach written on it represents how I enjoy coaching baseball and softball teams in the summers. The cow's picture represents my love for animals and that I grew up on a farm where my family raised cattle. The plane represents my love for traveling and how I want to travel and see as much of the world as I can. The antelope represents my love for hunting and the outdoors, and I used an antelope to represent this because I have a state record Boone and crocket antelope. I included a saxophone on my footprint because I love music, and one of the instruments I can play is the saxophone. I have a cookie to represent my love for cooking and baking, and I choose a cookie because I won a baking completion in high school with my chocolate chip cookies. I included the boat and fishing pole because I enjoy being out on the boat and fishing, and I enjoy getting to be out on the river in the boat.

Extension Activity: For an extension activity that could be used for my students to introduce themselves to the class would be to have them trace both their hands and their family's hands and make a chain out of the handprints. This could be used because then students could add information about themselves they want to share with the class, as well as information about their families and I, think this would be helpful because it would allow the students to introduce themselves, but it would also allow me to understand more about their families, their lives at home, and what they think is important to them.
